Modern Merfolk Counters with Chalice of the Void

Chalice of the Void is one if the rising stars in Modern MTG, thanks largely to its use in Eldrazi Tron. Chalice shuts down top decks like Izzet Phoenix and Mono Red Phoenix while disrupting other popular archetypes like Tron, Infect, and Mardu Pyromancer. Merfolk can play creatures through a Chalice on 1 either with Aether Vial or Cavern of Souls. Therefore, Chalice of the Void is a powerful tool in the current Merfolk deck.
