Pauper Ponderings: Tournament of Champions – Lantern Control

We’ve finally done it. We’re at Week 4 of the Tournament of Champions! And we’re playing a wild deck built around persist creatures and sac outlets and triggers. And no, I’m not talking about Birthing Pod in Modern!

Using persist creatures like Rendclaw Trow and Safehold Elite, sacrificing them to Carrion Feeder or Thoughtpicker Witch all while having an Ivy Lane Denizen in play gives you either Infinite +1/+1 counters on your Carrion Feeder or Unlimited Thoughtpicker Witch activations.

If you add Essence Warden to that mix, you also get infinite life. Mixed with grindy blue cards like Mulldrifter and Deep Analysis and you have yourself one spicy brew!
