How to play Merfolk in Commander? For years I’ve been asked this question and finally I can give an answer! My commander of choice is Thassa, God of the Sea. Thassa is indestructible, attacks for a lot of damage, makes creatures unblockable in board stalls, and smooths out my draws with a scry every turn. The rest of the deck is exactly what you would expect from a Merfolk deck except we also run Thassa’s Oracle to combo off with Paradigm Shift or we can draw our deck with Azami and Mind over Matter.
