I guess things really are bigger in Texas.

Over a million cards from Modern Horizons II, Secret Lair, and 30th Anniversary Edition were milled into a Texas discard pile in what can only be described as the biggest Treasure Hunt Combo fail in the history of the game. Without a Zombie Infestation to process the cards into Zombie tokens, the cardboard is, unfortunately, going to waste. Stunning local Hermit Crabs and reddit commenters alike, u/LATIN0 stated that only a couple packs of the product were recovered from the dump, and for those of us who dream of a find like this, it reminds us that it is indeed possible to Glimpse the Unthinkable.

Ashiok could not be reached for comment, but the cards seem to be exiled from the plane altogether, as no trace remains, according to the OP’s posts. As local enchantments prevent the discard pile from being searched, this hoard is likely to be left to the machinations of Phenax in the Underworld. As we enter the 40 days of Lent, one can ruminate on the collective loss felt by the MTG community — and reflect on all the cards we never got to Delve through. 😔

Until next time, and may your Scoop Phase be more forgiving than the whims of a forklift operator.
